In 1937 the City of Paris organised the World Exhibition of “Arts et Techniques appliqués à la vie moderne » (« Exhibition of Arts and Techniques applied on modern life »). At the 17th century, Louis XIV king of France felt concerned about giving disabled soldier a roof, he ordered the building of a vast monument to receive them.
